  I had the pleasure of staying at Pinewood lodge for three days. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with lots of things that you don't find in most hotel rooms now such as a mini kitchen with cutlery and dishes and a large jacuzzi. The view from the pool is right over the lake and there are tons of things to do in the surrounding areas. Excellent staff service and value.

  I have to say I'm disappointed. The previous owners kept the place sparkling, were genuine and caring, and never made us feel like we were unwelcome. To make a customer feel (and in fact say out loud) that it's their fault for calling attention to something, and then do nothing more than the bare minimum is sad. The one highlight is the after arguing with the female owner for 10 minutes, she finally agreed to not make us pay upon leaving early.

  When this was noticed and then brought to the owners attention less than 20 hours after check-in (during which time the washroom was used twice), we were lectured for cleaning it ourselves (I suppose we were required to pee on a filthy toilet, or simply hold it as there were no public washrooms for use). After suggesting that they could come "clean it if you like, unless you feel it's now up to your standards?" We decided to let them interrupt our stay for a few hours, clean the place and remove what appeared to be mold in the shower.

  It may be a good bargain, and a gorgeous location, but I gurantee there are cleaner places to stay, with better customer service.

  Yes, because what everyone wants to hear from a place that gave them food poisoning was, "well it wasn't THAT bad." What a little puking right? Same goes for this place. The moldy shower, cobweb coated chalet, grungy toilet and appalling customer service wasn't "THAT bad", so as a customer, we should be alright with paying what we did per night.

  They refused to do anything more for us than what they already had done, and in fact indicated to us that they shouldn't have to do more because they came to clean the place (which I'm guessing isn't a requirement if you stay there??) and besides, "it wasn't that bad".

  Walls, toilet, and shower were all coated in dust, and some orange sticky substance. The toilet was glistening with the previous occupants excrement, hair and heaven knows what else stuck to it, and the chalet was coated in cobwebs.

  We rented a chalet over Christmas. As in previous visits, we had a great time and the facility is beautiful!

  Hot tub made us sleepy... oh darn? Had a blast. Very relaxed... will come again... ZzzZzz... store on site so dont stress if you forget supplies. Room service is a fair deal too, really enjoyed my carrot cake!

  At least, according to the new owners it is. Upon arrival the new owners were friendly enough, but once we inspected the washroom in our chalet we realized it had not been properly cleaned in quite some time.
